Isn't it amazing. Something so small within an image can immediately draw your attention away from everything else.
Take this image for instance, when I first looked at it, my eyes were autimatically drawn to the red and yellow tulip.
The reason being of course, is that it is different from the rest of the image. It's a one of a kind within the frame and the fact that it's red and yellow combined and the brain registers that it is...different.
That is why you have to be carefull when taking an image. It doesn't matter how small an object is within the frame, if it's red or different in any way, it will draw attention away from the actual image itself (unless that is what was intended in the first place).
