Minolta MD 135 f3.5

Another one fro the Minolta, taken only minutes after the image in my previous post. Great colour, sharp and contrasty. I really can't complain.

I take this type of image to see how the lens reacts to these high contrast areas. No CA seen here at all. Mayb the light was too good for this one but sometimes I like how the image turns out. Plenty of detail in this one. I believe the lens cost me in the region of 20 Euro. There are some real bargains out there if one has patience and is willing to shop around a little. Some of these cheap legacy lenses are the best I have, costing very little.

Minolta MD 35 f2.8

Minolta MD 35 f2.8

This is my first entry for some time. Work has really kept me busy. Seems I'm now back in the land of the living. I've got a lot to catch-up on so lets get on with it. I've recently received an arsenal of manual focus lenses ranging from Olympus OM to Konica and Sigma, Minolta and Pentax and of course Voigtlaender. The latter really are quality made lenses. Unfortunately they are rather expensive. However, I will be testing all these lenses int he coming weeks and months and I'll post some images from all of them.
At teh end of it all there probably will be a gallery up just from these manual focus lenses. I prefer using my Olympus m4/3 cameras for this work. I seem to be able to focus a lot easier than with the Panasonic cameras. I don't use the magnification function, it just gets me confused. Really looking forward to the E-P3 and probably the E-PL3 (could be too small though).

Anyway, the first image here is with the Minolta MD 35 f2.8 lens. Quite nice actually. I'm looking for a lens in the 24 to 35 range that gives me the same image quality and contrast as my Yashica 55 f2 lens. I've seen some Yashica lenses in that range but they have a high price. All of my manual lenses cost very little which I bought on ebay (in the 8 to 35 Euro range).
