After a little sorting I realized that I have some nice Voigtländer lenses the some of you might not know about. The first 3 are the Heliar 75 f2.5, the Ultron 35 f1.7 and the Nokton 50 f1.5. I've shown a number of images from the 75 and the 50 and I use then quite a bit on both the Nex and m4/3 cameras. The 35 I don't use a lot and I'll explain why in the next couple of days. Most of these lenses cannot be bought new anymore because they just don't make them. They have been superceeded by newer models but that doesn't mean that the newer ones are better than these models here. Both the 75 and 50 perform very well on the Nex and having fokus peeking is a major plus on these cameras. I use my E-PL1 mostly for manual focus lenses in the m4/3 camp because I find it easier to focus than on the other models.

01/12/13 Manual Focus LensesAfter posting an image of the Panasonic lenses yesterday I thought about what else I have in the drawers about the house so I started sorting things out a little. Today I'm posting an image of the different 135 f3.5 lenses I have. These are relatively small and very useable when mounted on m4/3 or Sony Nex cameras. The smallest and lightest of these is the Minolta and is a beautiful lens to look at. The Konica lens is heavier and I think this is the one I least like to use. It's not in same league as my other 135 f3.5 lenses, or it could be just my copy. The top 2 in this range of manual 135 lenses are the Olympus OM and the Pentax SMC. Very nice build quality and the image rendition is really fantastic. The Pentax is quite heavy and feels quite undestructible. If you want a nice 135 manual focus lens for your Nex or m4/3 camera, look no further.
If you're wondering what lens I used for this image, it's an Olympus OM 28 f2.8 mounted on an Olympus E-PL1. Still a great camera for manual focus lenses. 1263
E-PL1 Focal Length: 0 mm Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 10/20 sec ISO: 200 01/11/13 The Holy Trinity of Panasonic m4/3 LensesThese lenses are the Holy Trinity of Panasonic m4/3 lenses at the time of this post. The 12-35 f2.8 and the 35-100 f2.8 are the fastest zoom available for the m4/3 system right now. The equivalent lenses on 35mm format are the 24-70 f2.8 and the 70-200 f2.8. Put these on the G5 and you have a really wondeful system that covers 95% of all situations. The G5 hasn't had much attention because of the Olympus OM-D but I can tell you here and now that it's a fine camera. There is also the Panasonic GH3 to consider but I see it as more of a movie camera and that is why I went for the G5. Price was also a major factor for my choice. 1158

01/10/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6The last image showing what this can do for now. Probably the next time I'll have a chance to use this lens will be in the spring, or, light permitting on a crip cold day this coming winter when snow is on the ground and a blue sky in the background.
I purchased this lens for €280 and I can definately say it's worth it. Couple this with the 14-45 kit lens and a macro then you're all set for most situations. Maybe the 25 f1.4 for low light stuff. 1372

Really quite sharp. The lens seems to be very sharp at close focus distances. I'm holding judgement right now for infinity focus. 1233

01/08/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario f4-5.6I had to get some frontlit trees or leaves during this walk. It's the only chance I've had this autumn since life tends to get in way sometimes. Then again, we have to realise that this is just a hobby and not my life. I think the same goes for everybody. 1226

01/07/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6Just a few more inamges from this newly released lens. I think this will be my tele lens when going on holiday with my Panasonic gear. Couple this with the 14-45 kit lens and I'll be all set. The G5 will accompany both lenses of course. 1259

01/06/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I don't think I've seen so many fungi this autumn as in recent years. There were literally thousands of them all over the place. This image didn't turn out all that bad for such a slow lens. I didn't think I would get a sharp image from the four of five shots I made.
You can see some noise in the dark areas if you open the image, but I find it acceptable. 1161

01/05/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6One thing I REALLY like about the G5 is that I can have the level indicator AND the histogram in the display AT THE SAME TIME. This has never been possible on the Olympus cameras, and I can't figure out why not. If Panasonic can do it why can't Olympus. You have to push the info button on the Olympus cameras to scroll through the views. It really gets to me that and the one thing that I wish Olympus would fix. That's just a firmware fix, which can't be all that difficult .....is it Olympus? 1650

01/04/13 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-150 f4-5.6I like the grip on the G5 (which is the reason I don't have a G3). It's has a very nice feel to it when holding in my right hand, which is the way I carry my cameras when on a walk. The camera is connected to my wrist of course with an Op-Tech wrist strap. I think they are the best on the market.
The Panasonic cameras, for me, are much more comfortable to carry than the Olympus cameras as they lack a grip that I can wrap my fingers around. 1476
