Panasonic 45-200 Gallery

Panasonic 45-200 Gallery

Yet another small gallery from the Panasonic 45-200 f4-5.6 OIS lens. This lens is also very cheap for what it produces. If anyone is in doubt about purchasing this one based on the price, don't be, just buy it. I don't think you will be disappointed. I was very pleasantly surprised by the image quality. All image taken with the G1.

Samsung 55-200 f4-5.6 OIS

Samsung 55-200 f4-5.6 OIS

Just put up another gallery. This new one is regarding the very cheap Samsung 55-200 kit lens. It's ok I suppose but really does need good light perform. I'm going to have to do some more tests with it in different lighting conditions.

PanaLeica Lenses

PanaLeica Lenses

This is a recent one from my beloved PanaLeica 14-50 f2.8-3.5.
I have a couple of these and use one on the Olympus E-1 because of it's sharpness and gives my E-1 image stabalisation. Great combination even thought the E-1 produces only 5MB files.
This was using the Panasonic L-1.

Lines

Lines

In stark contrast to the smooth rounded texture images from last week, here is one that was taken on the spur of the moment. I just looked up when having a coffee and saw this. It works for me, it seems balanced with contrasting colours. What do you think?

This is the last in the mini-series. The next post will be something a lot different.
I hope you've enjoyed the series. Comments and critic always welcome. If you would like to see something different, please let me know.

One more to go after this one, but it won't be the last on this blog. Like I said in the previous post, I'll be looking for these on future trips. Might not be of rocks but something similar perhaps.

Texture IV

Texture IV

Back to texture after a short break in the previous entry.
Here again you can see how brittle some of these rock formations are. I've still got a couple more of these images still to post. I did a small study when I was there last and I think the future will bring more of these sort of images. When taking these, I get so engrossed in the making of them that time seems to fly.

Surprise,Surprise!!

Surprise,Surprise!!

This is a very pleasant surprise. The image above was taken on the ver cheap Samsung 50-200 for the NX system.
When I purchased this (because I wanted something with more reach than the 18-55 kit lens), I would never have believed it to produce images of this quality. The 18-55 kit lens is also pretty good so I took a chance on this one. The lens is nothing special to look at. Actually, all these 50-200 lenses from all manufacturers look about the same, with the same build quality. I still have to give this lens a good workout, but from what I've seen so far, it performs pretty well. More images to come in the weeks ahead.

Looking at this image I can't help feeling that the rock is covered in fur. In reality it's a very thin crust of fine sand/dust. As can be seen the rock structure is not really stable, and small avalanches can be seen at the side of the roads here (in Andalusia) after every rainfall. Road / track repair is a never ending story, and can be considered a job for life.

Texture II

Here's number 2 in the series. Once I really started to look for these things I couldn't stop. All at once I could see texture everywhere. It was really great. Getting closer to everything is now on the agenda when I go out looking for images. More to come!
