This is one of the many cycle taxis you can find around Frankfurt. Here a tourist was getting a city tour during a period of nice weather.

The first camera I bought when digital was getting popular was the Canon 300D. I'm sure Canon sold many thousands of these because it was the first digital SLR camera you could buy under a $1000/€1000 (depending on where you live). The last Canon camera I bought was the FF 5D (the original). It was and is a great camera. Nowadays I prefer using an evf with live view where I can control the exposure much better than just using an ovf. My Canon system has been sitting on the shelf now for quite a few months and I don't even have a wish to use it anymore. That is why I've sold off most of my Canon system and the rest is going on ebay pretty soon. I am certain I will never use it again. I don't do any sport photography so AFC is not very important to me. Most of my subjects don't move or move very slowly.

When I first posted an image from this combination, I did warn you that there quite a few more to come. I'm so impressed by this combination that I don't want to use anything else right now. It's not just the lens but everything about the X-T1 is nearly perfect. It doesn't matter which Fujifilm X system camera I use right now, the metering seems to be spot on and the colours suit me to just fine. It seems to me that everyone who tries these X system cameras are very impressed with them, and some just sell off their DSLR systems, me included. More on that in the next post.

It really doesn't get much sharper than this. Focus was very easy and very quick. Focus was on the large sticker and lens was set at f4.

Shot at f2 and you can judge if the bokeh is to your liking. Personally I like it, not so harsh as some older rangefinder or SLR lenses.

Excellent lens rendition coupled with the super X-T1 sensor and great metering. It just can't get much better than this.

Another shot of the Frankfurt skyline (well part of it anyway). Everything in this image is very sharp from corner to corner and was shot at an aperture of f4.

This is the entrance to the museum. The image in the previous post is to the right of this image. Maybe you can't see it at this resolution, this image is extremely sharp. I said a couple of posts ago that I was going to be posting a couple from this combination but it's going to be quite a few. Looking at the mages I think were quite ok after an outing of 5 hours just walking the streets, I think they deserve to be posted here. I'm so impressed with this combination, I don't think I need to try another 50mm (75mm field of view which I like) lens again, unless I need autofocus of course.

Shot at f2, focus was on the wall of the museum. Focusing was easy with the X-T1. I wanted to capture the rich colours against the sandstone wall.

If you're looking for a normal 50mm manual focus lens for your X-T1, look no further than the Zeiss Planar 50 f2 ZM T*. It simply is the best 50mm lens I've used on the X system. Focusing is easy and the images have a certain pop to them. This lens will be glued to my X-T1 and the X-E2 will be used for the other lenses. I must say that the v2 firmware for the X-E2 has improved it considerably, especially the EVF.
