You sometimes, well I do anyway, get attached to lens that makes you want to out and use it. The X-T1 mounting the 35 f1.4 certainly is one of these lenses. I'm not certain what the performance is on the X-E1 or X-E2 because I haven't had the time to try the combinations yet, but I can't see the 35 f1.4 performing any worse (except for a quick test on the X-E1). The Fujifilm X system is certainly growing and there's a lot of demand for their cameras right now, and after testing this conbination, I can see why. I like the files, metering is great and the system as a whole is a lot smaller than the DSLR systems. Being smaller is a major point for me personally these days as I'm not getting any younger and weight does become a factor if I'm going out all day or on holiday. This is the future as I see it and, although it might take some time, the DSLR is on the out. Just my opinion of course, and you may disagree with that.

05/14/14 Fujifilm X-T1 - Fujinon XF 35 f1.4 R815
X-T1 Focal Length: 35 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/900 sec ISO: 200 05/13/14 Fujifilm X-T1 - Fujinon XF 35 f1.4 RJust another example regarding the X-T1 metering. There's even some detail in the shadows with the two people. And that's without blowing out the highlights on the walls. Quite remarkable. If I was shooting with my old Canon cameras, well lets just say I don't think I'd have bothered with this compostion. 1000
X-T1 Focal Length: 35 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/2900 sec ISO: 200 05/12/14 Fujifilm X-T1 - Fujinon XF 35 f1.4 RI heard a lot about this lens from quite a few prefessional photographers stating it was the best lens in the Fujifilm arsenal. Since all of them couldn't be wrong, I had to purchase one because it gives a 52mm which I prefer over a true 35mm. My opinion, a very nice lens and all those other photographers weren't wrong. Very sharp, very nice rendition and balanced very nicely on the X-T1. I find the new m43 cameras tend to focus faster but that doesn't really bother me too much. The files are excellent and the X-T1 metering is simply superb. In the image above I was certain I was going to get some blown-out whites, but ina ctual fact there were none at all. 1036
X-T1 Focal Length: 35 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 200 05/11/14 Fujifilm X-E2 - Fujinon XF 27 f2.8Last one from this combination for the present. Pretty much a minimalistic image. That's me BTW. All these images were taken before Fujifilm brought out the new firmware for the X-E2. It really has improved the EVF considerably and I can now select my colour for manual focusing. It has made a difference to me and I find in excemplary of Fujifilm to be bringing these firware updates out for their older cameras. I wish other companies would just look at what Fugifilm are doing and follow their lead. Just ask yourself how often do Sony or Leica bring firware updates out; rather a rare thing to happen not to speak of listening to their customers wishes. Pure arrogance if you ask me, and companies wonder why people don't buy their products. 987
X-E2 Focal Length: 27 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/4000 sec ISO: 6400 05/10/14 Fujifilm X-E2 - Fujinon XF 27 f2.8Just a couple more from this camera - lens combination, otherwise NT. 1168
X-E2 Focal Length: 27 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/210 sec ISO: 200 05/09/14 Fujifilm X-E2 - Fujinon XF 27 f2.8Another one from the above combination and as you can see, you can't call the image unsharp. I quite like this small combination when I'm going around town as the lens gives me a little more that the 35mm a lot of people use. I must admit I do find it difficult to concentrate when I've got a 35mm lens on a camera (and I mean a 35mm lens on a full frame camera). 1051
X-E2 Focal Length: 27 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/400 sec ISO: 200 05/08/14 Fujifilm X-E2 - Fujinon XF 27 f2.8This combination is quite small and could fit in a big coat pocket, depending on how big your coat is. The XF 27 2.8 isn't the sharpest of lenses but the images sharpen nicely in LR or Photoshop, depending on which one you use. If you're like me you use both. I develop all my images in LR as TIF files and then do the final touches, like sharpening, resizing and framing in Photoshop. I feel more comfortable using Photoshop for that at present until I get better at local adjustments etc in Lightroom. Something I'm going to have to start work on very soon. 1260
X-E2 Focal Length: 27 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/100 sec ISO: 200 05/07/14 Sony Alpha A7r - Sony FE 35 f2.8 ZALast image from this combination for now. This is downtown Frankfurt taken from across the River Main. Lots of building going on now and there's no chance of getting an image without capturing multiole cranes in the shot too. Never mind, I like documenting things around Frankfurt. I'll look at these images again in a few years and reminice about how it used to look. Isn't that the whole point? 1187
ILCE-7R Focal Length: 35 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/500 sec ISO: 50 05/06/14 Sony Alpha A7r - Sony FE 35 f2.8 ZAThis is a view of downtown Frankfurt, Germany also known locally as "Mainhatten". The detail in this image at full size is incredible but I think you can get a feel for it at this resolution. The lens was made for this system and the image quality from this combination certainly confirms it. I've heard and seem some great images from the FE 55 f1.8 but retail price is a little over €900 here in Europe right now, so I think I'll pass on that one and wait for a price drop or a good bargain comes along. 1062
ILCE-7R Focal Length: 35 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/1600 sec ISO: 200 05/05/14 Sony Alpha A7r - Sony FE 35 f2.8 ZAI just couldn't resist it. Although I actually bought the A7r for my manual lenses I was rather disappointed by the wide angle lenses on it. I have a few 35mm lenses in various mounts but really non of them perform well on the A7r. There was nothing to do but purchase the FE 35 f2.8 ZA lens since it's actually made for the camera and the dreaded purple cast wouldn't show it's ugly head. All I can say is this lens performs extremely well on the A7r and the amount of detail the sensor gives is truly remarkable. I'm also a fan of the zebra stripes available for proper exposure purposes and I've finally figured this out. For my tastes, I adjust the exposure so that the zebra stripes are just visible and the whites will not be overexposed. I didn't think it possible to get this much dynamic range out of a sensor, but it is, in my mind, the best sensor on the market today. If you're sitting on the fence trying to determine if this lens is worth it, buy it, it's worth every penny. 1019
