This is probably the best image I have ever taken with the LX5. That's my opinion of course. The light was difficult and changing all the time. Again, this camera has impressed me but the image has of course been worked on in Lightroom v5.2 and in Photoshop.
When purchasing a film camera, it lasted a number of years and new cameras were seldom. You just didn't get the yearly updates we are experiencing today. You were then locked into that system because what was even more important were the lenses you bought for that camera. The lenses were the most important element and that still holds true today. Cameras come and go but if you purchase a good lens you tend to keep it.
Some might be asking where is all this leading to, so I'll just come out and say it. In my opinion, today, what is becoming more apparent is that the most important part of the final image is how it's processed. If you decide to shoot in jpg format and do nothing with them after you'vce downloaded them onto your PC, then yout images will always be mediocre. You might get one or two very good ones but the majority will be just so-so.
Your opinion might be different than mine on this point - thoughts?
