If there was ever a travel lens made then this lens could be it. Covering a 35mm equivalent focal range of 24-400mm it is a jack of all trade, a master of none.Having said that I personally am happy with the image quality at all focal lengths although it is not crispy sharp at the long end. But for my purposes tack sharp images from corner to corner at all focal lengths is not a requirement. All I require is enough sharpness that I can't immediately see it when viewed. That oesn't mean I allow images with camera shake to linger in my image collection. I won't tollerate that al all. It is a good travel lens but it also requires lots of light to go with it especially at the longer focal lengths where the aperture isn't all that fast.
Here is a link to the first post on this lens. Not a lot has changed since then:
After now having this lens for a few years I can safely say that it is a keeper. I have other lenses with better image quality but they don't offer the range this lens does. Being a little careful at the long end I am satisfied with the quality of this lens and it suits me fine as my travel lens when a one camera, one lens strategy is in place. The size and weight are perfect for travel and you don't have to resort to the larger lenses with a reach of 300mm or more from both Olympus and Panasonic.
The following images were taken in 2022 in Spain while taking a little break in the hills. Enjoy.
