Another at f1.8 just a second after the bee landed. It wasn't a still day so the flowers were moving some. Still focusing was good and it locked on at the first attempt.

08/12/12 Sony SEL 50 f1,81996
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/1.8 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • Nex-5N • SEL 50 f1.8
08/11/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8Don't let anybody tell you that focusing with this lens is slow. If it's fast enough to copture this bee in flight it's plenty fast for me. Again shot at f1.8. 1577
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/1.8 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • SEL 50 f1.8 • Nex-5N
08/10/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8Focusing was quick and spot on for this one. It was really just a quick snap in passing but I'm really quite impressed. 1173
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/1.8 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • Nex-5N • SEL 50 f1.8
08/09/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8Another check on how the bokeh looks at f1.8. Not the best but I'm not complaining. 1300
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/1.8 Exposure Time: 1/1250 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • Nex-5N • SEL 50 f1.8
08/08/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8I thought I would capture this one with a crop in mind (since you don't have the option of doing 1:1 ratio images on the Nex system). The water lilly is dead center with the window frames dividing the images into a "Rule of Thirds" grid. I thought it worked out quite well. 1186
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/2.8 Exposure Time: 1/500 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • SEL 50 f1.8 • Nex-5N
08/07/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8This image really does have a 3D look to it. You may not be able to see it at this size but it really is there. The yellow flowers in the foreground pop out of the image. I wish all my lenses gave me this. The images remind me of the SEL 18-55 kit lens. That lens is also exceptional I think. It gives me the same kind of rendition as the 50 f1.8. 1185
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/2.8 Exposure Time: 1/1600 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • SEL 50 f1.8 • Nex-5N
08/06/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8Again it locked on the flower in the foreground at the first attempt. I composed this one to see how the small fountain in the backgroud would appear in the image. I like what I see. The water isn't blown out either so exposure seems to be good. 1115
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/2.8 Exposure Time: 1/2000 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • SEL 50 f1.8 • Nex-5N
08/05/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8Believe it or not, saturation has not been increased in this image. The micro contrast and clarity of this lens is really this good. Colour are also true to they looked so you could say that I'm pleased with this lens when used in bright light. What I haven't tested yet is how the system behaves at dusk or indoors in not so great light. 1278
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/2.2 Exposure Time: 1/800 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • SEL 50 f1.8 • Nex-5N
08/04/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8Focus here was on the formast flowers at the top. It locked at the first attempt but like I said in my post yesterday it's not the quickest system on the market. The Nex-5N is also a superb camera. The sensor is very very good but I prefer the Tri-Navi of the Nex-7. Bokeh is also very good, just look at the images from my previous posts. 1222
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/2.2 Exposure Time: 1/4000 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • SEL 50 f1.8 • Nex-5N
08/03/12 Sony SEL 50 f1.8I'm really amazed at the results I'm getting from this lens. I have to admit that focus lock is not that fast. The latest m4/3 systems are faster but when it locks it locks. I've got some images here that show that and I'm going to posting quite a bit of them in the coming days.
For those of you not interested in this system, sorry, but I'm sure some of you may like to see some images from this combination. 1331
NEX-5N Focal Length: 50 mm Aperture: f/2.2 Exposure Time: 1/3200 sec ISO: 200 • Sony • SEL 50 f1.8 • Nex-5N
