This is the last of the Sigma 30 f2.8 posts for the moment. If you're intersested in some more images from this lens then there's a small gallery here. I had a great time testing the 19 f2.8 and the 30 f2.8 around Frankfurt. Great weather and a great little walk. I must do more of it when time permits.

07/20/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex IX2101
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/640 sec ISO: 100 07/19/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex VIIIThat is one long ship. Used for cruising up and down the Main and Rhein I think. I had to walk quite far down the Main to get the whole ship in the photo. Maybe the 19 f2.8 would have been better here. 1618
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.0 Exposure Time: 1/1250 sec ISO: 100 07/18/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex VIINotice how the square image format is slowly taking over from the conventional 3:2 format. I wish they would bring out a camera that had a dedicated square format. I know they exist in medium format but the prices are just out of this world. Saying that, Leica have just brought out a B&W dedicated camera, so someone, somewhere just might be working of a 1:1 format sensor. I hope they are. 1537
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.0 Exposure Time: 1/1250 sec ISO: 100 07/17/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex VII think the images I'm getting from the two new Sigma lenses are impressive. I don't mean that the images are masterpieces, just that the image quality is very good. Looking forward to using these for some serious photography. 1730
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.0 Exposure Time: 1/1250 sec ISO: 100 07/16/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex VI have noticed with some of my cameras (especially with the m4/3 ones) that sometimes I get a better sharper image if I use it in portrait format. Not all the time but with certain lens it is the case. I tried to replicate this phenomenon on the Nex using the 30 f2.8 but it seems not to matter. I get the exact same crispness in landscape and portrait mode. Glad about that because it does have me thinking when using my m4/3 cameras. 1761
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.0 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 100 07/15/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex IVI like the blues I get from this lens. Not too intense and is true to how I saw it. Again I'm impressed by the sharpness and, thank God, no decentering with either the 30 or 19 f2.8 lenses. Tested and tried and they seem perfect. 1297
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.0 Exposure Time: 1/1250 sec ISO: 100 07/14/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex IIII really like this image. Is it because of the rendering, the sharpness, the colour or the contrast? Well, it's because of all thos points. And, of course, it's in a 1:1 format.
But that's just me. 1689
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec ISO: 100 07/13/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex IIA great focal length (for me) to walk around town with. Suits me very well.
Here's hoping that Sigma bring out some more of the very good affordable lenses. I'm just wodering if Tamron will get into the market because it seems to be growing and surely there must be a market since Sony can't seems to produce (or deliver) any really appealing lenses for this system. 1598
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/400 sec ISO: 100 07/12/12 Sigma 30 f2.8 for Nex IHaving just talked about the Sigma 19 f2.8 for Nex and being really impressed with it, I looked the pricing for the other lens they brought out, the 30 f2.8. At €200 I just couldn't resist. It really is a bargain at that price and since Sony have only the 30 macro on offer (which doesn't really attract me) I ordered it. If it's at all possible this lens is even better than the 19 f2.8, which I will show in the coming posts.
The images will be very similar to the ones taken with the 19 f2.8 because I wanted to do a comparison on the same subjects at the same time. I am really impressed with these two lenses. 1304
NEX-5N Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/800 sec ISO: 100 02/21/12 Samsung NX10 and the 30 f2 PancakeThe last image from this camera and lens for now. I thought it would be a change from the m4/3 scene and see how other cameras do. I like the bokeh in this one and the 30 f2 hit the mark with the focusing. The camera helped some too. Like I said, not the fastest focusing camera, but it nails the focusing nearly 100% of the time. 1892
