I did say taht I'm shooting more in the square format. I was just a little surprised that I do it so often. I tend to be a minimalistic photographer. It's the little things that attract my eye but funnily enough I don't post them too aften.

Another square one for you. Things just fit nicely together in this format. I wonder why that is. I take a lot more photographs using this format. In the 3:2 format I just don't seem to get the image that I want. 4:3 is better but 1:1 beats them all. Maybe I should switch to medium format? It had crossed my mind but after looking at the prices of these things, I think I'll just stick with the m4/3 system and select the 1:1 format. Do you know how many CSC cameras you can buy for the price of one medium format camera? Do yourself a favour and just don't go in that direction.

The more images I take in the square format, the more I like it. Apparently, this is the most difficult format to use and come out with some great images. I'm finding that I see a lot more in this format. Of course it won't improve your photography but this format suits me fine. I really like it. I'm not saying that these are great images but it's something I find easier to use than the usual 3:2 format which I don't really like. Much prefer the 4:3 or 1:1 format.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the more I photograph in the square format the more I like it, especially using a zoom lens. I can frame it in a totally different way from the normal 4:3 or 3:2 format. I've also been dabling in the 16:9 format which seems great. The only problem is, the Panasonic GH2 is the only camera on the market right now that has an extra wide sensor so that when you photograph in the 16:9 format, you don't lose pixels doing it. I'm not going to be buying the GH2 but I'll be keeping an eye out on future cameras that offer this feature. It's a great idea and the format opens up a whole new world.
