01/17/13 Legacy LensesI really enjoy using legacy lenses on either the m4/3 or Nex systems. At present, Sony have implemented the "peeking" function as an aid to accurate focusing using these lenses. I find it a lot better than using it on the m4/3 system. I find that it gives me real accurately focused images while I do struggle a bit with the m4/3 system, especially with longer focal lengths.
The E-PL1 is my favourite camera for this use from all the m4/3 sytem. Right now you can purchase these for next to nothing but the image quality is really amazing. High ISO is not great but I really don't use high ISO all that often, actually hardly ever so this small camera is pretty ideal for my use. I hope Olympus brings out a firmware upgrade that implements the peeking function found in the Nex cameras. That would make it even more fun than it is now.
The 2 lenses seen in the image are relatively new and they haven't really been tested yet. I hope to get out with the 100 f2.8 in the next few days and I'll report back on how it handled. 1372

03/11/12 Yashica 55 f2 Manual Focus Legacy LensThis is one of the sharpest lenses I own. Since aquiring the Olympus series of m4/3 cameras, I've been moving slowly to legacy manual focus lenses. Two reasons really, the first being that it is fun using these lenses (especially with the Olympus cameras). Secondly, they are cheap (but prices are rising fast). It slows you down so that you have to focus where you want the focus to be and that helps composition immensly. You look around the edges more, you move closer to your subject or move away if you're too close. If you haven't tried this yet, please do. It brings back some life into your photography. 2356

11/13/11 Sony Nex-5NAnother one from the same walk and using the same lens. No IS with these lenses but the high ISO performance of the Nex is really impressive. 2169
NEX-5N Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/60 sec ISO: 640 11/12/11 Sony Nex-5NAnother from the Sony Nex-5N using a Minolta 135 f3.5 manual focus lens. It really is great fun using these legacy lenses, especially with the peaking function offered by this camera. I just can't stop using it.
Really a shame about the Nex-7. What I really want from Nex-7 is the direct control for EC. I use that a lot and it's a bit of a pain using it on the Nex-5N but I'm getting used to it though. 2375
