Most of these images were taken at f2 due to the low light levels and the camera was set to auto-ISO. There's a lot of DOF in the images at this aperture due to the smaller sensor. The Nikon V1 system is better at this because of the even smaller sensor but noise is better controlled on the m4/3 system. Just as you would expect.

11/21/13 Olympus E-M5 - Olympus mZD 12 f21020
E-M5 Focal Length: 12 mm Aperture: f/2.0 Exposure Time: 1/200 sec ISO: 200 11/20/13 Olympus E-M5 - Olympus mZD 12 f2Just another image to show the detail you get from this combination. Really great. 1072
E-M5 Focal Length: 12 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/160 sec ISO: 640 11/19/13 Olympus E-M5 - Olympus mZD 12 f2This is a pretty clean image for ISO800 which really is as high as I like to go. It doesn't mean that I don't go higher, it's just I like to keep my ISO as low as possible and I'm not a high ISO shooter anyway. This is still a drawback and weakness of the m4/3 system which applies to Panasonic as well. The smaller sensor is of course at fault here because there is no substitution for a large sensor. They will always be the better choice for high ISO work (at present). 1013
E-M5 Focal Length: 12 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/125 sec ISO: 800 11/18/13 Olympus E-M5 - Olympus mZD 12 f2I've only got two words for these images: simply stunning (and I don't mean that the image composition is stunning, just the image quality). 1203
E-M5 Focal Length: 12 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/125 sec ISO: 640 11/17/13 Olympus E-M5 - Olympus mZD 12 f2The texture of the walls here is simply amazing. Probably you can't see it at this size but it really is true to life. The lighting, the detail, texture and everything about the image is really how it looked. I'm blown away by the quality and rendition I'm getting out of this camera. 1031
E-M5 Focal Length: 12 mm Aperture: f/4.0 Exposure Time: 1/125 sec ISO: 500 11/16/13 Olympus E-M5 - Olympus mZD 12 f2A lot of detail here but what is also remarkable is that the highlights haven't blown out and the blacks aren't blocked. I love the way the shadows fall, just the way I like my images to look. 1001
E-M5 Focal Length: 12 mm Aperture: f/2.0 Exposure Time: 1/320 sec ISO: 200 11/15/13 Olympus E-M5 - Olympus mZD 12 f2When I went to Kloster Eberbach to do some testing of the Nikon V1 and the 1 Nikkor 6.7-13 f3.5-5.6 lens, I also took the E-M5 along with the mZD 12 f2 lens. What a beautiful lens, very sharp and quick to focus. The next few images are from that lens and I'm not going to include a lot of text with the images. I think the images says it all. I can't find anything to fault with this lens being a 24mm in classic 35mm terms, it really is wide enough for me for normal shooting. Anything wider and it seems my brain just switches off. Probably a 28mm would also do in a pinch but I must say the quality of the lens in combination with the E-M5 is very very good. 994
E-M5 Focal Length: 12 mm Aperture: f/2.0 Exposure Time: 1/80 sec ISO: 200 11/14/13 Nikon V1 - 1 Nikkor VR 6.7-13 f3.5-5.6This image impressed me the most about this combination. Hand held in a small room and the only light available was what was coming through that little window with some blue tinted glass, and from the candles that you can see. Exposure was spot on and white balance was also correct. I love the way that the candle flames have turned out. For me it's just perfect, it cought the atmosphere of the little room. 1053
NIKON 1 V1 Focal Length: 13 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/6 sec ISO: 800 • Nikon • V1 • 6.7-13 f3.5-5.6
11/13/13 Nikon V1 - 1 Nikkor VR 6.7-13 f3.5-5.6Being a monastery, they used to produce wine, about the only place where wine was produced at that time. I'm really surprised this image came out because the room was very dark, darker than what the image suggests. I took it with the camera balancing on an iron gate which prohibited entry into the room. A hand-held photograph of this room would have been very hard, if not impossible, to take. I can't take hand held images down to 1/2 second but then again some of you may be able to do it. I probably drink too much coffee. 1169
NIKON 1 V1 Focal Length: 6.7 mm Aperture: f/3.5 Exposure Time: 1/2 sec ISO: 800 • Nikon • V1 • 6.7-13 f3.5-5.6
11/12/13 Nikon V1 - 1 Nikkor VR 6.7-13 f3.5-5.6Just a few more images showing the layout of the room. As you can see, a secret to getting good wide angle shots is to get close to the foreground and fill the frame which I've tried to do here. 1109
