Took three lenses out last weekend. Wanted to test them all on the Sony Nex-5N. Very impressed with them all. I could have one lens that is decentered, but only at one or two aperture settings. Must test them again to make sure. I wasn't sure how they would perform on the larger senson in the Nex-5N. I think I was worrying for nothing, they all performed admirably. This is one from the Voigtlaender 75 f2.5. One of the best lenses I've ever had.

It really is great fun using these legacy lenses, especially with the peaking function offered by this camera. I just can't stop using it.
Really a shame about the Nex-7. What I really want from Nex-7 is the direct control for EC. I use that a lot and it's a bit of a pain using it on the Nex-5N but I'm getting used to it though. 2256

A fantastic blue sky helps and I always find at least one day every year where this is the case. All these images we're taken on November 6th during a short walk through the local scenery.
This particular image was takem with the E mount 18-55 kit lens, which is the only Sony E mount lens I have. All others are legacy lenses. 2678

After hearing about the flooding in Thailand and the announcement by Sony that they have delayed the delivery of the Nex-7 to Europe indefinably, I decided to buy a Sony Nex-5N. I had read a great deal about the camera and read many a review about it. All of them seemed to be very happy with the camera and after reading a couple of reviews of the Nex-7 (http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/) I decided to purchase the Nex-5N. I think this delay will be for several months and we can probably see a Nex-7 in Europe maybe June 2012 (if we're lucky).
The reason I bpought the camera was for legacy manual focus lenses. Although I've been using these on m4/3 for some time, the peeking function on the Sony models make it a LOT easier to manual focus. The EVF is also very, very good. I just can't use a camera at arms length, just doesn't work for me. What really does interest me int he Nex-7 is the amount of dials you have for instant control. I use EC a lot and the Nex-7 has the dial for that. Also, the inbuilt EVF is unresistable. Until then however, the Nex-5N is a real alternative. All in all, a very good camera. 1972
